The moodle platform was created under 3DCentral Project

The goal of 3DCentral project was to build competences of regional DIHs in Central and Eastern Europe by exchanging experience and good practices between project partners. The project was promoting RIS3 implementation in partnering countries.

The moodle platform is an e-learning Interreg 3D Central platform open for everyone all over the world and dedicated to promoting and widening students’ knowledge and skills on the most important technologies of the future in the field of smart engineering and rapid prototyping.

The training courses are divided into two parts: methodological and thematical courses.

The methodological courses called “Brain base” consist of four subtopics on:

  • knowledge management,
  • transfer management,
  • innovation management
  • tools.

These four courses are compulsory and each student should pass them before entering the thematical ones.

Module 2 consists of 10 different courses on 10 KACE topics, which are practically oriented and consist of effective courses depending on the Knowledge Innovation Technology Transfer Scouts (KITTS) interests.

The thematical courses focus on specific  technologies:

  • Additive manufacturing,
  • 3D Design/ Engineering/ Scanning/ Simulation,
  • Smart and functional materials,
  • Digital life,
  • Technologies for sustainable manufacturing,
  • Virtual and augmented reality for manufacturing,
  • Value-added virtual supply chains,
  • Smart services,
  • Robotics (components, machines and intelligent robot),
  • Mechatronics (sensor, monitoring and control).

The thematical courses are practical oriented.

Each course was designed to be an interactive textbook, featuring pre-recorded videos, quizzes, and project description. The student is guided through all the course and all the time he or she can discuss further topics or critical issues with the teacher. The content and duration of the courses can differ from each other but are designed to deliver as much compact information and knowledge as possible. The platform offers also an event calendar, where the student can plan and monitor his activity and self-development process.

Thanks to synergy with another EU project Transnational Technology Transfer Enterprise Agents, financed by Erasmus + Programme the number of open source courses was expanded by additional 11 courses and 36 thematic lessons on technology transfer and Industry 4.0.

Hypertree tool

The IT Tool (Hypertree) helps to identify potential transfer processes and moreover it helps to connect “islands of innovation” to a stable network of regions for innovation. In a second step the defined and validated process for transfer and innovation helps stakeholders to focus on important steps in a transfer & innovation process. The process is designed to fit for different organizations like research institutes, universities, companies, etc. The Moodle platform covers all the 7 regions of the involved project partners: South Tyrol region, Lombardy region, Styria region, Saxony region, Malopolska region, Zahodna Slovenia, Vzhodna Slovenia.

The overall goal of the Hypertree is to help to connect “islands of innovation” to a stable network of regions for innovation on smart engineering and rapid prototyping & develop, implement and anchor powerful, practicable, future-robust KACE system to tighten and boost the linkages and capacities amongst the relevant technology and innovation actors of smart engineering and rapid prototyping.

Showing different good practices, clustered by regions and knowledge axis help the KITTS (Knowledge Innovation Technology Transfer Scouts seen as multipliers) and the partners to see knowledge gaps in different regions on different topics.

The IT Tool Hypertree is hosted and maintained on an Evolaris server during and after the project. Every project partner has to keep the data updated during and after the project.
